Modelling UK electricity regional costs for commercial buildings

چکیده

As electricity prices continue to rise, it is essential that UK non-domestic consumers develop smart energy management practices. However, most of these lack awareness the spatial–temporal dynamics and their tariff components. To help overcome barriers contribute price digitalisation, this paper presents a Modelling Electricity Regional Costs (MUKERC) framework. A bottom-up methodology defines all components then aggregates them quantify cost kWh across each half-hour day. The framework not only facilitates understanding which have higher impact during different time periods, but also depicts how they vary spatially regions. This model was used estimate analyse evolution costs from 2017 2024. Case studies buildings in education sector are showcased depicting derived load profiles. Results show London area has lowest average prices, while Northern Wales & Merseyside expensive. From case conducted, peak period charges account for 17% annual (occurring between 4 7 p.m.). Winter represented about 53% charges. MUKERC showcases valuable insights data-driven costing models offer as allows understand identifies “when” “where” more expensive; thus, supporting development bespoke cost-effective measures improve resource efficiency initiatives.

Modelling Electricity Consumption in Office Buildings: An Agent Based Approach

In this paper, we develop an agent-based model which integrates four important elements, i.e. organisational energy management policies/regulations, energy management technologies, electric appliances and equipment, and human behaviour, to simulate the electricity consumption in office buildings. Modelling start-up costs of multiple technologies in electricity markets

This paper analyzes the effects of start-up costs of different technologies in providing electricity power. We explicitly solve a simplified linear formulation of the dispatch problem. Transforming this primal problem, we show that dominated technologies should be used only in the case of limited availability of efficient technologies. Furthermore, we develop a 'pen and paper' algorithm to dete...

A cross-sectional study of the temporal evolution of electricity consumption of six commercial buildings

Current approaches to building efficiency diagnoses include conventional energy audit techniques that can be expensive and time consuming. In contrast, virtual energy audits of readily available 15-minute-interval building electricity consumption are being explored to provide quick, inexpensive, and useful insights into building operation characteristics. A cross sectional analysis of six build...
